When you provide us with your email address for registration, we will send you periodic emails regarding upcoming events, special deals, merchandise available to purchase and special announcements from sponsors.

The Site uses Haku to collect and process registration and credit card payments.
Why it is collected: This information is necessary for event registration, for race scoring, and to contact you.
What is collected: During event registration, your name, address, gender, birthdate, telephone number, emergency contact information, email address, shirt size and payment information is collected.
In addition, you have the option of giving us permission to send your email address to our charity partner if you wish to be added to their mailing list.

MailChimp
We use MailChimp to manage registration email communications.
Why is it collected: We collect registration information from Race Roster and transfer to MailChimp for email distribution.
What is collected: Name, city, state, country, county, email address, year, and event participation are collected from Race Roster and transferred over to MailChimp.

The Site uses Shopify for its merchandise sales.
Why is it collected: Information is used for payment and for shipping purposes.

The Independence Day Road Race may share aggregated demographic information about our user base with sponsors and partners, but this is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.
LEGAL DISCLAIMER
We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order or legal process served on our Site.

GOVERNING LAW
This policy and the use of the Site are governed by Delaware law. If a dispute arises under this Policy we agree to first try and resolve it with the help of a mutually agreed upon mediator in Wilmington, Delaware. Any costs and fees other than attorney fees associated with the mediation will be shared equally by each of us.
If it proves impossible to arrive at a mutually satisfactory solution through mediation, we agree to submit the dispute to binding arbitration in Wilmington, Delaware, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Judgment upon the award rendered by the arbitration may be entered in any court with jurisdiction to do so.
IndependenceDayRoadRace.com is controlled, operated and administered entirely within Delaware. This statement and the policies outlined herein are not intended to and do not create any contractual or other legal rights in or on behalf of any party.
